Barnaby wears leaf spats and a scarf made of grass stems.
Incredibly egotistical, Barnaby only cares about himself and usually disregards the feelings of others. He believes frogs are better than toads in every way, and never hesitates to let it be known. When he encounters the Toad Patrol, he constantly makes fun of them, mocking the way they speak and even their very nature. However, Barnaby's views on toads drastically change after the Toad Patrol save him from a wandering dog. This turn of events pushes the frog to befriend the toadlets despite a rocky start. He even returns the favour later on in the series by saving them from Erebus.
(sees his reflection in the water) "My, my, my! Just look at me! What a frog!"
"Do you mind? You're ruining the view."
(gasps in horror) "Toads?! Did you say toads? Did he say toads? He said toads, didn't he?"
(picking petals off a daisy) "I love me. I love me not. I love me. I love me not... Oh, who am I kidding? I love me!"
"Now what should I do? I know!" (looks at own reflection) "Look at me!"
"Diplomacy is like acting... only more respected."
"Oh, Erebus. It is Erebus, isn't it? Of course it is. And what a fine name it is."
Although Barnaby loves to sing, he's not particularly good at it.
In the first season, Barnaby's skin is a solid green. In the second, it is more of a turquoise.
